About PET/CT Center

Patients at the PET/CT Center are treated on state-of-the-art Varian linear accelerators, including two Trilogy units and a TrueBeam Machine, the most sophisticated linear accelerator currently available. One treatment vault is also used to develop leading-edge technologies under a master research agreement with Varian Medical Systems. The center also has a large-bore GE LightSpeed CT simulator, Varian RPM gating systems, HDR brachytherapy suite, GE 3T MRI, and PET-CT.
UC San Diego Health is a leader in advanced nuclear medicine diagnostics and treatments, offering a full range of quality imaging services not widely available elsewhere. Our specialized equipment and expertise make us a preferred referral center for many other hospitals and specialty physicians. Positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT), also known as PET/CT scans, are services for the early diagnosis of cancer, heart disease, epilepsy and dementias, including Alzheimer's disease.
UC San Diego Health offers patients advanced diagnostic and interventional imaging services at many convenient locations.
